Music – The Human Equalizer

Music is a medium that has the ability to inspire, provoke thought, teach, tell a story, and entertain. One of the amazing things about music is that it doesn’t matter what language the composer speaks, the emotions of the piece translates perfectly into every language. This is true concerning Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Gershwin, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, and many others.

The right type of music, which is different for every person, can add a sense of quality to life. Life truly is not long enough to experience all that music has to offer. Music and the love of music have been constants through the ages. And today, it is as strong as ever. People connect with what they hear, the combination of notes and lyrics. Music draws the listener in to its private world, a world that is unique for everyone.

Music, when searched for, can be found in everything, including seemingly obvious silence. There still seems to be tones and different pitches in the air.

Music invokes feeling and emotion; that is why it is universal. And that is why it cannot be silenced; music seems to seek out the emotion in the air, and then play off of it. This might be why music can penetrate one’s heart and lead that person to self-reflection.

That is why the wonder that is music is so remarkable; it finds those secret spots that we haven’t opened or thought about in a long time, pierces it, then causes the hearer to release it. Because of this, emotion often escapes after someone hears a beautifully composed piece.
